Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (often abbreviated as SVG) is an island country in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean Sea, known for its mix of volcanic landscapes on the main island and the stunning, smaller islands of the Grenadines.

The nation consists of the main, larger island of Saint Vincent and the northern two-thirds of the Grenadines, a chain of 32 smaller islands and cays stretching southward toward Grenada. Only nine of these islands are inhabited.

The capital and largest city is Kingstown, located on Saint Vincent. It's nicknamed the "City of Arches" due to its numerous stone arches.

Saint Vincent is a volcanic and mountainous island, dominated by the active stratovolcano La Soufrière (4,048 ft / 1,234 m), which last erupted in April 2021.
